PAINT CHIP SERIES

We’ve featured the work of artist Shawn Huckins before. His painting series’ have a penchant for being quirky outside of the box creations.

These may look like scenes painted onto the paint chips that you pick up at your local home improvement store, but a closer look would reveal full scale paintings. These paint swatch mimics are so exacting in their layout that they give a spark to the ordinary happenings painted into them. The warm hues create a relaxing intimate space for the viewer; allowing a meaningful connection with the colors that we choose to decorate our living spaces with.

It’s freaking ridiculous how detailed these paintings are…look at this last one Foxtrot - it looks like the color window cutout is actually there!

Anthropologie Inspired Orbit Mirror | Brit + Co
The mirror on the left costs $1800. The one on the right - $20! Insane. of course, the Brit + Co mirror takes a bit more effort than just popping down to the store and buying the Anthro one, but it’s easy and fun to make - and you could make 90 of the Brit + Co one at the same price!

DIY: Stencil Picture

girlwhocriedfashion:

I’m currently decorating my new flat but everything I like is extremely expensive so much like my previous post about the Moments Jar I really liked this idea for making something cheap for my room.

So basically all you need to do is buy a stencil and paint over the stencil onto a blank canvas once you remove the stencil you have a beautiful and striking picture which was cheap to make…

Honestly,

Robin
